About 104 WPR Metro

104 WPR Metro is the ongoing passion project of writer/director/musician Alex Bazis. Born and raised in central Iowa, Alex graduated from Grinnell College with a degree in theater--he lived in Minneapolis and Manchester, New Hampshire before settling in Somerville, MA. Along the way he accumulated a wide array of musical and theatrical experiences that eventually coalesced into the vision he expresses through audio dramas like Wolfwhistle and Derry's New Direction.

Audio drama is the perfect medium for those whose imagination exceeds their budgets. It allows indie creators to tell stories as long and intricate as TV mini-series, all by turning the work of imaginative suggestion and emotion over to sound rather than image. 104 WPR Metro is my romantic homage to the classic old movies that inspired me when I was a child, that felt bold and vital and larger than life. Befitting the origin of audio drama in the radio plays of the 1930s, I adapted a retro Art Deco aesthetic for the artwork. I plan on branching off into other genres (horror, philosophical fantasy, Biblical adaptations, etc.) but I am committed to creating passionate, original work that defies conventions and cliches.

Along the way, I have been fortunate enough to work with a large group of lovely, talented people, without whom these projects would all be dead in the water. I encourage you to check out their other projects and give them plenty of support!
As a creator, I have four major commitments:
1: Creating ambitious, challenging original work.
2: No ads.
3: No AI.
4: Generous compensation for my collaborators.
If you enjoy my work, consider supporting me with a good review or a poster purchase. Any proceeds or support will be passed on to my future collaborators!
